                Each correct answer is expected to award you 1 positive mark while a penalty of 0.25 negative mark would be applied for each wrong answer in SNAP exam 2018 pattern of marking scheme.

 

Eligibility

  • Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is the MBA entrance test for admission to 15 Symbiosis institutes across India. The institutes award MBA degree of Symbiosis International University (SIU)
  • SIU Pune determines the SNAP Exam Eligibility before SNAP exam every year. Apart from the ensuring their SNAP Eligibility, the candidates appearing in SNAP exam also have to check the Institute Level Eligibility Criteria which can be different from the SNAP Exam Eligibility.

Two levels of SNAP Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)
  • A final year student, while their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.
Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD, Pune) MBA

  • Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)
  • A final year student, while their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

MBA – Business Analytics

  • Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) with minimum two years full time work experience after completion of graduation.
Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB) MBA – International Business & MBA – Agri Business

·         Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)

·         A final year student, while their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

MBA – Energy & Environment

·         Bachelor of Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% for SC/ ST or equivalent grade). A final year student’s application will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM, Bengaluru) MBA

·         Graduate with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)

·         A final year student, while their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

Symbiosis International University has directed the candidates to check the SNAP eligibility of the respective Symbiosis Institutes also as they have to apply for the institute level MBA programme through SNAP website.

SNAP Exam Pattern V/s CAT

SNAP Exam Pattern and IIMs CAT Exam have many similarities which give the opportunity to the candidates to synchronise their sectional and overall exam preparation. However, SNAP 2018 Exam Pattern will have a few dissimilarities as compared to CAT exam:

SNAP Exam Syllabus

                SNAP Exam is conducted on December of 2 hours duration computer based online test. SNAP Syllabus covers the sectional test composition, number of questions, type of questions, important topics, scoring pattern in SNAP Test.

                SNAP exam syllabus contains:

 

  • 150 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions).
  • SNAP test is divided in 4 sections.
  • SNAP exam syllabus ensures that there is no repetition of SNAP questions.
  • The difficulty level of the questions in SNAP exam would not go beyond the SNAP Syllabus.

 

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP)

Section-1: General English: Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability

                Section Highlights: This section comprises all the components of English Language and the major parts covered are English Language, Reading Comprehension Passages, Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability.

                Sectional Weightage in SNAP Syllabus: 27%

                Important Topics in SNAP Exam Syllabus:

                Reading Comprehension (RC) Passages: 10-12 Questions

  • 2 RC Passage followed by 12 questions
  • RC topics are based on Facts, Opinion, Literature, Current Affairs among others
  • The SNAP Syllabus on RC passages does not throw difficult questions
  • RC Based questions are directly related to the RC passage contents

                Verbal Ability (VA): 22-26 Questions

  • Synonyms, Antonyms, Fill in the Blanks
  • Idioms, Phrases, Vocabulary usage
  • Jumbled Paragraphs
  • Correction of Errors in sentences,
  • Core Grammar usage – Conditionals, Active Passive, Indirect Narration etc.

                Verbal Reasoning: 6-8 Questions

Section-2: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency

  • Section Highlights: This section syllabus comprises questions on Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency. Although Questions on Data Interpretation are limited, they sometimes prove lengthier than questions on Quant and consume major part of the time.

  • Sectional Weightage in SNAP Syllabus: 20%
  • SNAP Syllabus Topics:  Economics, finance, national and international current affairs are a few of the many topics on which questions are placed in this section. Major topics in SNAP Syllabus are:
